Polaris - also known as the Pole Star or North Star - is a yellow supergiant; the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Minor.  It is part of a multiple star system, orbited by two little blue companions, Polaris Ab and Polaris B.

Polaris operates as a night light with an internal bulb offering a gentle glow.  The light can be turned on and off by a button in the foot, or turns off with a timer after 20 minutes.
