Addition By Heart: Visual Flash Cards for True Comprehension - Math For Love

I bought these for my youngest as we’ve been working on our number facts. I already had Tiny Polka Dot but wanted something a bit more specific. I *quite* like these, they progress through stages of difficulty, and have images on them to help with the addition (e.g. ten-frames with dots for each number)., a great idea - and of course the cards themselves are top quality card stock - but I would advise a little caution if using with a child who struggles for whatever reason. The idea is that every card a child gets right moves forward to the next slot, to the point where eventually, they’re ‘done’, and can be used in games instead - every one they get wrong, by contrast, goes back to the beginning. This can be disheartening. With my youngest I’ve modified it so if she gets one wrong or can’t answer, it doesn’t go back, it just stays in the same slot rather than moves forward.

We really needed something that would help the kids addition skills. We have only played it a few times at the moment but I can see the potential it will have. We love Math For Love anyway, and this is exactly what we needed to feel the kids are seeing formula written down and translate that to their real world understanding of numbers. Hopefully they will introduce a minus version next too.

Also, I messaged Steam Rocket when I heard this game had been released to ask if they were getting it as I had bought other Math For Love items here previously.
