Word on the Street Game - Educational Insights

Get in the fast lane in this fun-fuelled race to claim 8 letter tiles faster than your opponents in this hilarious tug of words.

With over 400 category cards, you will become a wordsmith in no time!

Word on the Street supports development of literacy skills in the areas of vocabulary, spelling and communication.

How to Play:

A player from the team on the street draws the first card from the card tray, places it on the table and reads the category aloud. As the card is drawn, the timer is flipped.

Players from the team on the street brainstorm words that fit the category printed on the category card. Team members may call out as many suggestions as they want, but they all must agree on one word that fits the category before time runs out.

Before the time runs out, one player from the team on the street moves the letter tiles for the selected word.

When the time runs out, a player from the opposing team says “stop” and the team on the street must immediately stop moving letter tiles. That teams turn ends and the category card is placed in the back of the card tray.

The opposing team becomes the new team on the street and begins the process again.

The first team to capture eight letter tiles to their side of the street wins – it’s as simple as that!

Word on the Street has two extra gameplay modes – quick-play and a family mode designed for younger players.

Good family game

Really pleased with the personal service we got. My son has played it with our grandchildren aged 6 and 8. The age on the game said 10 plus but they both managed to play and enjoy it with a little bit of help to start with. Looking forward to playing it with them myself!
